Three die on day one of holiday weekend

Three people have died in three separate accidents on Australia's roads on the first day of the Easter holiday long weekend.

A motorcyclist in his early 30s was killed in Victoria on Thursday afternoon when his bike collided with a car in Berwick in Melbourne's southeast.

Another man died in a head-on collision between two cars in South Australia's north on the Stuart Highway near Indulkana.

And Queensland suffered its first fatality of the holiday when a man in his late 20s died in a single vehicle crash on Brisbane Valley Highway at Coominya at about 2.30pm (AEST).
