Horatio Caine Discovers Betrayal in the Ranks on 'CSI: Miami'

ET
When Horatio Caine's (David Caruso) girlfriend is killed in an explosion, the CSI's look within the department to find her killer on tonight's episode of "CSI: Miami" -- and ET is on the set for the explosive drama!

"It appears that someone is stealing evidence and this has gone back a couple of years," says David, explaining the storyline. "As we get closer to the truth, we realize it is someone who is among us that is behind this series of crimes."

The case heats up with the murder of a state attorney and Horatio is heartbroken to discover that a man who was his partner years back -- John "Sully" Sullivan (Brad Leland) -- is a part of the dangerous group of people involved. A shoot-out ensues and Sully takes a hit.

"It is really painful. It is one of those moments you can't imagine happening. I have no other choice but to bring him in," David continues. "Thank God he survives the gunshot wound. We have a sequence where he is being loaded onto the ambulance. Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez) comes in and gets the story back on track. I think it is appropriate that Eric is there because he is family and Sully is family."

Eric's character is actually Horatio's ex brother-in-law. Horatio had been married to Eric's sister Marisol, who was killed by the Mala Noche on their wedding day. David thinks that their connection through that storyline has made Eric's presence on the show one of the keys to the series' success, so he is happy that Adam will be back full-time next season.

"There is also another bonding there," David says. "We took a trip to Brazil and we were involved in an incident there that keeps us close. I feel the show comes together around this partnership, so it is essential that [Adam] is back."

"CSI: Miami" airs tonight at 10 p.m. on CBS.
