Australian refugee footballer Hakeem al-Araibi will be remanded in a Thai prison for another 60 days, with his next court date to fight extradition to his native Bahrain set for April 22.
Australia must step up its representations to Thailand and ensure that the people who we give residency to on basis of protection must then be protected. The likes of Hakeem are granted residency because they are refugees, let’s not fail Hakeem.
