FUNCTION IN HONOUR OF PROFESSOR RIFAAT EBIED FOUNDATION PROFESSOR OF SEMITIC STUDIES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA.
The Association For the Development of the Arabic Folk Poetry in Australia and the Arab World Incorporation (ADAFPAAW), T/A Association for Poetry and Heritage, together with its Committee Members, are pleased to advise that, we have organised a Function in Honour of Professor Rifaat Ebied,
Foundation Professor of Semitic Studies at the University of Sydney, Australia, having regard to his unique, brilliant, distinguished, unprecedented, and meritorious achievements in ‘Literature’, and ‘Languages’.
Venue and particulars of the Function The Function will be held at the precincts of the Parliament House of New South Wales, – The Jubilee Room on 26 July 2018, at 2:00 pm.
Furthermore, Particulars of such function are set out in the ‘Two Flyers’ Overleaf which we annex hereto for your information.
Background
The purpose of the abovementioned Function is to reward and present our sincere gratitude, thankfulness and appreciation to Professor Rifaat Ebied who has excelled throughout the years as a 'Professor', and ‘Teacher of Semitic Languages and who has played an effective role in persevering the ‘Alphabet ‘ with utmost glory and pride.
The Honorary Function is unique, important, and most significant. It praises the tireless and unprecedented work of a High Profile Professor namely Rifaat Ebied,
who is labelled as ‘The King of Alphabet’ and the ‘Man who can speak with ‘Several Tongues’, and able to converse with ‘Several Nations’.
Transmitting of Culture and Heritage Throughout the length and breadth of his life, Professor Rifaat Ebied worked tirelessly to reflect an impeccable image of the Country of Nile - Egypt, England, and Australia.
Furthermore, Professor Rifaat Ebied, had transmitted throughout the years the Egyptian , English and Australian faiths, traditions, culture, values, history, and heritage to the Wider Community, and the Whole World as well.
Professor Rifaat Ebied is a man of nobility, with a keen interest in Literature and Languages. His visions have a significant impact on the Australian/English/ Egyptian/ and various other communities as well. Such visions have created tolerance, solidarity, and a particular combination of meditation within same.
Professor Rifaat Ebied is no doubt a great and precious Asset to Australia, England, Egypt, and the World.
Curriculum Vitae
It is observed from the ‘Tenor’ of the attached Curriculum Vitae, the tireless and extensive work performed by Professor Ebied, who has published extensively in the field of Semitic Studies in general, and Arabic, Islamic, Hebrew and Syriac Studies in particular.
It is with utmost pride and nobility, Professor Rifaat Ebied excelled in performing Research and Publications in Syriac Patristic Studies, Hebrew and Biblical Studies, Christian Arabic Studies, Medieval Christian-Muslim Relations, and presented the same to his Students and the whole World.
